A collaborative work by Durham Public School students and internationally recognized artists - Alfredo Jaar, Whitfield Lovell, and Deborah Willis. In Jordan High School, Neal Middle, and Shepard Middle, with materials from video to assemblage, students examined the stories within old photos, their community, and textbook maps. The students produced visually powerful and socially relevant work. The three projects were organized by Literacy Through Photography, a project at the Center for Documentary Studies with funding provided by the Surdna Foundation.
