African Ubuntu and South African Constitutionalism: Constructing a New Legal Culture

Description: African Ubuntu and South African Constitutionalism, a public conversation between Justice Yvonne Mokgoro (Constitutional Court of South Africa) and Jean and John Comaroff (University of Chicago) will explore what the term Ubuntu, a concept encapsulating values of African humanism, means in the context of the contemporary jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court. Reception to follow in Room 130 John Hope Franklin Center and Gallery space
