The Duke University Center for International Studies organizes and presents a wide variety of programs whose common feature is stimulating critical engagement on the historical, social and political contexts of contemporary issues. We organize annual named lectureships, thematically-based seminars and conferences and cooperate frequently with other units on the campus and in the Triangle.

An essential element of our programming is the sharing with broader public new innovative approaches to issues. Sometimes this is a matter of introducing new perspectives, other times it is the introduction of new technologies as a way of sharing information.

On the DUCIS homepage you can find employed a number of these technologies such as iTunes and YouTube.

The following pages detail our many programs.

We invite you to take part in our programs whether live or virtually.
