About Us

The Global Health Working Group is an entirely student-run group sponsored by the Duke University Center for International Studies as part of their Graduate Seminars on Global Issues. It is a uniquely interdisciplinary collection of graduate and professional students dedicated to:

  • Educating themselves and the Research Triangle community about global health issues;
  • Fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among graduate and professional students at Duke and UNC; and
  • Serving the cause of global health through advocacy and related activities.

The GHWG’s main activities include meetings, held approximately every three weeks, consisting of student or outside speaker presentations and discussion, participation in local service projects, and the compilation of global health-related scholarship.
