Globalization and the Globalization of Ethics

Launched in the Autumn of 2010, the University Seminar on Globalization the Globalization and Ethics (GGE) draws together faculty and students from across the University, opening critical dialogue among scholars and students from diverse backgrounds and interests. The seminar series is a collaboration between the Kenan Institute for Ethics and the Duke University Center for International Studies.

The initial broad scope of the seminar encompasses some of the key ethical challenges of our relationships within and across political and cultural communities. These challenges include both the ethics of globalization (how best to structure global institutions to respond to moral conflicts and discord), and the globalization of ethics (ways that religious, secular, and cultural traditions can address the problems posed by the economics of globalization, ethnic tensions and cultural clashes, and environmental threats.)
